If I had enough money I would buy every single house in my neighborhood and demolish them and turn the property into a massive compound.

If you can get into some deals in the next few years with good returns, the compounding effect has a long time to create some serious wealth.I would recommend you start attending some REI (Real Estate Investor) meet ups in your area.
