Admittedly do not have any short-term rentals, but am curious to hear how people are navigating the current climate.

Wichita, KS is a great market to invest in and we have a very supportive climate here.

We have family in Europe who have the cassette type mini splits, but they are in a considerably drier climate. 

@james wise and @ sharad m I see what you guys are saying even though you have two different opinions,  but the main point I'm getting is I shouldn't stop shop just because of some climate change.

I personally invest in Delco because of the political climate, returns are good, decent tenants, and slightly less competition, though that has been changing for a little while now. 

I understand the risks.And as stated in todays climate EXERPREINCE and CASH is needed.. you have neither then you need to get both.. and the way to work your way up is to JV with those with cash or experience or both. 

In the current extremist climate we seem to live in, I could see a problem with abuse. 

These methods are so valuable to use anytime, but especially in the mortgage climate we have now.

A pool, for example, will cost just about the same no matter the market, but the value of a pool in a warmer climate area is way more than in a place that experiences cooler weather.

When cold enough I've seen interior pipes split within a matter of a couple hours of a heating system failure.I'm veering a little off track now but when you live in a climate that sustains -20F for weeks on end you get pretty well versed in the freeze threshold of a lot of different materials.This toilet took longer than a couple hours to finally give up but it's pretty good example of the kind of damage that can result.
