Our plan, and strategy, is to begin our REI portfolio now (or very soon), so that in 10 years we use REI to supplement my retirement pension and in theory, be financially free.Like I mentioned to @Eric Jones, OOS investing in a more passive manner makes the most sense for us now.

This allowed me to verify that the door being closed in the common area, with the furnace running, would be enough to prevent the pipes from freezing.However, the Tenant has turned the thermostat all the way down, but still on, and I believe is still using the space heaters to supplement.
