Galvanized pipe...old stacks were made out of copper (rarely), galvanized steel (never up here, maybe in Tampa), or cast iron (much more common), modern stacks are made out of either PVC or ABS pipe.

Installing iron bars etc is probably more expensive than just to replace/fix.

Ironically, it seems that the larger deal size, the less there is requirement to co-invest at the same level.
