We are very careful to prohibit behaviors not people.We can prohibit the act of smoking on the property, or at least inside.We don't prohibit people who identify as smokers from renting with us - we just tell them they can't smoke on the premises (however we define that) and then outline what the consequences of violating that policy will be.

I've done many deals without using my money, my credit was never an issue in most of my dealings.What can be critical is the perception of others thinking you have good credit, that really is based on your ethical behavior, how you present yourself professionally......again, education is the foundation here.

Yes, sometimes you can jail them for this behavior, but it's a essentially lose-lose situation.I definitely wouldn't give them half the bill, but something small so that you aren't completely antagonistic with them.
