@Evan Jackson I don't have a ton of experience in this area, but I will say I have heard an iron clad noise complaint section in your lease is a good idea.

Any business pretending themselves ironically or tongue in cheek is a good sign .

And with the current prices of lumber I would consider a quote for iron gate, stone, etc.

Ironically, I was trying to buy another place back then but the market was too hot and I was too green to find a great deal in those conditions, so I saved and studied and kept looking ... then the market crashed and because I didn't give up I had the knowledge and was sitting on a pile of money I had saved to invest ... good times, glad I did not throw in the towel back then or worse buy to try to force a bad deal.

Cast Iron pipes degrade from the inside out, so today they are fine, and tomorrow, your basement is full of sewage.

@Simon GhandilNo offense..but it kind of ironic that you got approached by someone that wants to do the same thing.

And if their flip takes longer than expected then it will sell for more since the city is appreciating so rapidly, ironically.  

I've read some of the news reports over the past few hours on how the mayor is trying to get all the service lines replaced within the year (it is my understanding that most, if not all, of the main lines were cast iron and thus not affected).
