If the cabinets are functional and it's not in a location that will command high end rents, I'd leave them, maybe paint them and as you said new hardware.

Also, no software, hardware or security issues.  

There were 30-40 boxes of DirecTV dishes and mounting brackets on the porch, plus other hardware.  

Or paint the perimeter cabinets in a warm white and accent the island in another darker color for a contrast that feels like it's a piece of furniture.Black Door Lever Hardware and Plumbing Hardware, Cabinet Hardware, Accents and Light Fixtures are a nice pop that feels modern and cohesive. 

Bring your on wallet though!

For hardware, go with brushed, nickel or brass gold.

Stay away from the “guru” sales-pitch events - they rarely increase your investment knowledge, they merely empty your wallet!

Change the hardware on the cabinets, put in some better faceplates.

We added value by re-doing the whole house, installed vinyl floorings, rebuilt 2 and a half bathrooms, re-painted the whole house, replaced all the hardware in the house, installed new lighting, ceiling fans, re-painted the kitchen, and completely remodeled the upstairs.

Our local hardware will put new screen in an old frame for about $25 for a similar sized window or I could buy a roll of screen and do it myself.
