Let me start by saying that I am a dog lover, all dogs and breeds.

Most insurance companies will never insure a property where a tenant has certain breeds of dogs.

Certain coverage could excluded some dog breeds. 

The aim ... is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality.

It resists moisture but when moisture gets in it's tougher to get out thus creating a better environment to breed mold. 

Not only are you unsure what lurks beneath but is a breeding ground for mold, mildew and lots of nasties.First guess time says you're gonna find a fair amount of rot under there and you'll end up redoing the floor.
