My wife loves Destin so I was doing the same thing there.

As mentioned above, I also believe we are in a time of continued growth - prices have gone up substantially just like most vacation destinations, but you can still find great deals here where the numbers will work.  

Years ago I heard a lot more about 40-60% returns on Airbnb by just buying a nice place and putting it up for rent short term, now many vacation destinations that are STR friendly have seen a ton of people join the game, partially because this is often the only way to make a property cashflow right now from day one.

And maybe some government likes the taxes, but it is true that in many popular areas it is becoming more difficult because of zoning, that is why in Hawaii they have vacation destination zones, and in the county i live in Colorado, they want you to have an acre or more for an STR.

There are some great destination restaurants and bars that bring the younger crowds to that area to live and play.

Hi all,I am embaking on a new path after many years building residential and would like to get some feedback on rv park investing.I am talking about destination type parks, typically not mixed with mobile homes.

After excluding commuting miles, the allowable miles (per IRS) I drive once every 2-3 years from the rental to another destination and back just isn't worth keeping track of.Do the same restrictions apply when driving to and from a home and construction site?  

Louis at the same time, the low cost of living and manageable climate plus proximity to many US business destinations (4 hours by car to Chicago, Indy, Nashville, KC, Memphis, etc. or 2 hours by plane to Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, etc.) should keep a stable base population in the metro area.

More specifically the Destin area but I travel from Pensacola to Panama City for projects.
