We all are looking for genuine advise not just the high profile figure to speak at the meeting so any of your contact can be speaker who has deep knowledge in their field.

If someone genuinely wants to learn, great....let's talk!

Be genuine, courteous and likable. if you aren't any of those, then you'll have to work on them first. :) Show that you respect their time and their consideration, and let them know that you'd like to do business with them.2) Establish credibility.

Also, if you're in the DFW area you can drop by one of Think Multifamily's meetups to learn and network with like-minded people or reach out to Mark and Tami on BP; their genuine people and would love to meet you! 

It's rare to have a forum where people genuinely want to help each case other.  

You can ask questions, in a way that is not too intrusive and asked showing genuine concern.

In Seattle, you are competing with genuine, actual cash buyers with POF and massive EM checks.
