Those little bottles of shampoo and soap don't last long so guests would have to go out and get these items anyways (most of our guest stays are 7+ days).One other thing is that many guests will leave shampoo and soap behind, so there's usually plenty of those items along with sunscreen, lotions, etc... in our bathrooms.

As for moving to dark towels, remember that some sunscreens and other skin products have some peroxide and will ruin a colored towel.

If you did, instead of a gun, you'd probably carry around hand-sanitizer, a defibrillator, and sunscreen, as the flu, heart disease and skin cancer are tremendously more likely to kill you (about 40 times more likely) than you being murdered.
