Instead of wood (which would have easily been $6K installed, I opted for Water-resistant 12mm Laminate which luckily I found on sale, and in stock near by, so that is going in soon (see pix for details).

It's also super easy to clean, pretty scratch/dent resistant, and can usually be refinished once or twice depending on the quality.

The one place I tried RUBS was resisted by the tenants.So long as you're planning to rent the ADU to someone, I don't see why it'd be the same.
