I'd much rather just be able to keep part of their deposit, but I realize that method would be ripe for host abuse.I have never seriously contemplated renting via Craigslist for several reasons:  It's rife with scammers; Airbnb's communication system "protects" me to some extent (I try to do all my communication with guests through their inbox); and I cannot secure reviews (or review guests) if I get them from Craigslist. 

Just to Keep you guys updated Trenton is underway for major developments over the next 20 years proposed plans back in Dec 21 2021 called Trenton 250 to redevelop the city of Trenton and to bring it back to life, I know alot of people are contemplating if they want to invest in Trenton so maybe this will help.

Are you truly contemplating not pursuing this deal because the seller wants to see you've got some skin in the game opposed to $20? 

Someone with the mind set to do this is brushing off zoning legalities, and won't be selling for a price that would contemplate putting it back to a SFR.

And I do wanna wake up one day and do nothing but contemplate my belly button, and then turn around and work 18hrs the next day.

Also, I never said nobody should ever invest in a low income area, but something new investors need to take into serious consideration when contemplating their first rental or two.
