If you plan to do consulting on an ongoing basis, but 5 years into the future something changes and you take a full time time and stop the consulting altogether, you could terminate the plan and transfer assets to a retirement account type that works for your situation at that time.I hope this helps give you an idea of what circumstances the plan may work better for than others as far as your self-employment activity is concerned.

I just think the issue isn't that she doesn't want to be involved in it or scared of real estate but that she is terrified you are jumping in too deep and getting you both into something you may not be able to recover from if problems arise, and it's just easier for her to try to avoid it altogether.

I don't know about that particular program but I did attend another one that sounds similar to this...usually that 25k covers someone coming out and working a deal with you in some way they guarantee you a deal...but this depends on how bad you want in...you spend 25k and your deal nets you 10k you are still out of 15k...there are tons of info out here for free but having to group it altogether can be frustrating...We didn't pay 25k but some people did am not sure of their outcome...Iam sure you could find someone that can walk you through your first deal a lot cheaper...

Plumbers, electricians, HVAC all have their own licensing requirements and so do not also need MHIC licenses.Oh, and if you are a home builder here in MD, there's another requirement altogether... one must have a Maryland Home Builder Registration number.So if I want to be licensed to do a commercial fit out, build a house or finish a basement of an existing house, I have to carry three different license registrations.
