Just like slot machines.There is a senior, in particular that I am thinking of, in the building I live in.  

I just dump in a bunch of quarters in the slot, it works fine.

It seems like everyone living in Colorado is issued a dog, so I just expect that has taken the +1 slot so I do not add that in.

Also an allen slot on the bottom can unjam it.

They've been paying via check for the last 20 years and my dad had been traveling 90 minutes round trip to pick up the checks (multiple times per month since of course they would claim they dropped the rent through the drop slot and it must've gotten lost in the room). 

I don't know if you've read my other posts, but I love renting to law students.  

If I get a judgment against them I could possibly get possession of that valuable poodle and auction it off at a poodle-lover auction!

So it sounds like the best answer for *me* is to write a dual letter of notice of non-renewal (with wording to allow for default to month-to-month, which is what happens in Washington, from what I am reading in the statutes) along with a 3-month notice to increase rent.That will give them the 90-days required notice on rent increase & hopefully stop any potential sudden "complaints" that would bar me from non-renewing the lease (Washington statutes seem to say if there is an open "complaint" about a rental, you can't evict or non-renew or it's considered retaliation).You know, the more I write, the more I just want to get her out, sell, and buy 3 or 4 cheap properties......I love real estate and rentals, but when it's your OWN home.....ugh.

so it depends on the setting.. even at that taking no cash the front of their office was like a bank teller with bullit proof glass and a sliding slot door.. kind of like a low end convience market in the HOOD

Once I have a date set I call people and make "appointments" for half hour time slots.
