@Jay Hinrichs The big difference in Singapore is that much of the housing is controlled and subsidized by the government(HDB flats) where most of the local working class lives.

Not so exciting.What caught my eye was in the story the city auctions off the house because of unpaid taxes to a company based in Singapore. 

GTI tires ( had dinner hte other night with an exc with the company here in Singapore)they are pro growth and it shows.

Bahrain is very lucrative, it's like the Middle East Singapore.

I manage a similar high rent property in California while living in Singapore.

And of course this lady in Singapore got nailed for it...

I have been to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Borneo and Malaysia but not Mainland China.

PS we are in Phuket this trip... and off to Singapore for 8 days after this.. now there is no 50k real estate in that city state...

If you think of it, the Bay Area is not too different from Manhattan to Hong Kong or Singapore in that it is limited land, all fully built out.
