Hi BP,My name is Andy and I'm interested in property in Mexico City / CDMX and was wondering if anyone on the forums have had any experience as an American citizen acquiring property down there, and what that might entail?

@Tamara Batsell   I just got off the phone with someone in Mexico. 

The guy has fled to mexico for whatever he was doing as I understand and there is bunch of land that he left behind without paying taxes on it, part of which is the land next to me.

When we closed, he and his girlfriend were conveniently in Mexico.

I currently live in Mexico and I have read it is wise to start in the market you live in but being from the US brings complications I'd rather stick to investing in the USA.

That's right, the country of Texas made a choice to join the United States after liberating itself from Mexico.

My picture of choice is a Westin Resort in Mexico that my wife and I stayed at years ago.

I have around $3k net income now off real estate (8 doors) its a cool feeling to know i could live off it if moved to an inexpensive country like mexico, peru, etc.
