As a military member who has moved 4 times in the last 4 years, and owns or has owned rental properties (primary residence rented out after PCS) around Army bases, BAH is definitely subpar in most markets.

I mean, there’s literally THOUSANDS & THOUSANDS of houses selling for $70k-$150k all over the Poconos, including Milford, Narrowsburg, Calicoon, Stroudsburg, Bushkill, Arrowhead Lake, Indian Mtn Lake, Pocono Summit, Stillwater Lake Estates, Brier Crest, Tannersville, Mt Pocono, Tobyhanna, etc, etc, etc.I mean, you can buy 3-BR, 4-BR, & 5-BR houses for $70k-$150k and have PLENTY to choose from.

The scare of JBER moving/closing the Army side back a few years ago certainly dropped some prices in the area and they have yet to rebound, and im not sure they will in the near future.
