I try to go as often as I can, they usually have a speaker present for 30 minutes or so and then it is just a meet and greet with agents, investors, coaches, etc.

The speaker said that when he started looking for private money, he bought a list of people in his county that had money in CDs, and send a direct mail piece to each of them offering a free lunch and briefly describing his agenda and how he could give them a 10% return on their cash instead of the 4% or so that they were getting on the CD.
