You are right "real estate goes up", but I'm not going to decide if a deal is good or not based on that general sentiment.

Hey Nolan, I echo the sentiment of many of the posters here - banks will straight up lie to you sometimes regarding what options are available (especially if that particular bank doesn't offer it) 

As best you can find out the regulations and if possible the sentiment of the community.

In saying this from all the research I have conducted there is plenty of evidence to indicate Detroit is on the rise, market and business sentiment is positive.

Further realize there is a significant anti STR sentiment in San Diego county which means that STRs can be further regulated anywhere and therefore having a back up plan is prudent. 

I echo these sentiments that good contractors are in high demand, the same as very good subs. 

I have the same sentiments.

I don't share your sentiment that it's good advice to look the other way, thanks for your opinion though.

@Sean Supple I can't speak to Joshua Tree but Yucca Valley next store is looking at implementing more regulations based on public sentiment.
