Do you see North Adams or similar cities turning around at some point or are they all mini-Detroits?

As I was listening to a podcast about building townhouses (also called Skinny Mini's), I thought, why not rent a townhouse??

I would put in a mini split versus the $5,000 duct repair and new hvac. 

If it needs to be replaced, I don't want to pay the $10k-$15k to get it dug up and replaced and so I'm considering pulling permits, renting a mini-x and digging up and replacing it myself.

Hi Min,I just took a quick look at your post, and while I am unfamiliar with LA and rental costs there, given that it is close proximity to USC, I think the price for rooms seems reasonable, but someone else here can confirm.Regarding whether it is a good deal, assuming the numbers are accurate, I think it is an excellent deal, especially for a duplex!

More recently, I have moved into multi-family properties (one of which is in Skiatook) and mini storages. 

Maybe the other houses that have sold for the lesser amounts were bought by those wanting to get in while the market was down, with the hopes of being able to remodel, or tear down and build a mini mansion in the future, and the developer of the property you have shown is the first one to start the redevelopment of the area.

I ended up storing the cleaning supplies and mini-blinds for a year or so before getting rid of them.In your case, though, you have what appears to be belongings left behind. 

I had a mini kitchen off the master suite, very handy!
