I would consider doing a credit card balance transfer to a credit card that is offering 0% APR.I am in the process of transferring ~9k in CC debt from my Navy Federal CC (13%) to a Citi CC with 0% APR on balance transfer for 21 months at a 3% fee (~$200).

Look around the world, the strongest currencies going forward will be Aussie Dollar, Canuck Dollars, and Brazilian Real among others (not familiar witht he economy of Latvia LOL).
