The developers unloading the Victorians aren't going to wait for you identify the vacant land, etc, they will have already torn the Victorian down.

I want to unload the property and have my relatives pay me rent but in a different city.

I rehabbed the entire house for $12k, lumber,plumbing,flooring,cabinets etc...I'm literally adding 2 interior walls a doorway, a closet and a window. the only thing that will cost the most money is getting a tankless water heater to conserve space.The add might cost $3k but it's right around there.

Lumber is waaaay up.

I did unload everything I could in February and I still feel it was the right move.  

Not only are lumber prices at 135% in comparison to last year, the PNW is literally on fire while Canadian lumber industry is being devastated by the pine beetle and labor is nowhere in site because rental supply is non-existent.
