Regardless of who the current property owner bought the property from, he/she is still responsible for the security deposits and their transfer to the new property owner (assuming the sec dep's we're lined out on the lease agreements).1st, get copies of the leases as part of your due diligence. 2nd, if you think you're getting the security deposits, make sure they are spelled out on the HUD1 statement.
