I have grown fond of an app called Burner that gives me temporary phone numbers so that my personal cell number isn’t being given out far and wide.

These housing issues are pushed to the back burner because Baltimore is suffering from what, on the surface, appears to be far greater challenges such as gun violence and crumbling schools.

Come up with a service that tenants pay finders fees for rentals and then you are on to something....imo.....and something that has been on my back burner for awhile.

Just asking as a novice person reading this trading naked would be a risky bet.Since the volatility is so high, spreads are pretty fat right now,but don't know when it will drop to grab the premium ;)----For the other answers,  we are in an unchartered market.

In general, you have to realize the public perception of landlords are fat-cat wealthy capitalists. 

I put that on the back burner in lieu of buy-and-hold when I reevaluated my "whys" and the best overall vehicle to help me accomplish my goal of legacy wealth.  

I prefer a wood burner over gas as well, but only when I'm in a house where I can get the wood off my own land or otherwise cheaply. 

Take photographs.Typical things I see tenants overlook: cleaning the oven, cleaning under the burners on electric ranges (the top usually lifts off), cleaning the range hood (the filters can usually be cleaned in the dishwasher), cleaning the floor under the refrigerator and range (be careful in moving appliances to not scrape the floor), cleaning out the air ducts (take off the heat register and vacuum it out), cleaning the window tracks, stuff missed behind doors or in the deep reaches of cabinets.Give the landlord your forwarding address.

While everyone is looking out for the DOS in corners, the big fat elephant in the middle of the room is insurance.In the name of asset protection your title and hazard insurance is laying in the shade.
