Hello BP,I own a quadplex 4 unit multifamily in a state where marijuana is not legal in any capacity (recreational or medicinal); and one of my tenants (A) has mentioned marijuana smells coming in through the vents shared among all units. 

Place looks and smells so much better!

I have taken some good strides the past 2 years and gotten my mental health in a good place, but it is a never ending battle. 

The bottom floor office complains of smelling weed in the office at times.

It’s like the battle between cigarettes and E-Cigarettes, the news just destroyed one company due to their exposure and great marketing, but the rest are just cowering behind the “Big guy”.

When I enquire brokers never get back to me or give me the info i need and smell im new at this.  

I need to keep my battle plan up to date. :) 

She moved, because the damage was just to daunting for her to remedy, it took me a good two months to deal with the full renovation kitchen and bathroom, and of course several attempts at refinishing the floors and getting the cat urine and roach feces smell out.Be safe, be healthy, be clean!

In any case, I found the following after she moved out:- Smoke/animal smell throughout the unit (she was a smoker and smoking in the unit was strictly prohibited and dog was allowed per the lease)- Carpet with cigarette burns and soaking wet at the time of removal (no telling how long its been like this)- Rear window has a broken pane (still functional as it is a double pane, but needs to be replaced regardless)- Holes in drywall- Replaced bedroom doorknob with deadbolt (because her middle school son was stealing cigarettes lol)- Backyard full of metal/wood fragments and general rubbish including shoes, a knife, batteries, fishing reels etc. 

I kept the old carpet as clean as possible with my commercial carpet cleaner, and it does not smell in the room.
