Real estate has now peaked my interest and I want to buy in North Carolina and I might be open to other hot markets.

As of 2 hours ago (1:00pm PST), there were a total of 7 fires:Pacific Palisades: over 27,000 acres burned, contained 11%Eaton Fire: over 14,000 acres burned, above Altadena, 27% containedHurst Fire: 800 acres, San Fernando Valley, 89% containedThese fires are contained:Lidia Fire: in Antelope Valley north of LAKenneth Fire: west San Fernando Valley, they suspect this one to be arson, suspect arrested (saw on one news report)Sunset Fire: Runyon Canyon near Hollywood HillsWoodley Fire: in Sepulveda Basin and San Fernando Valley @Becca F.: Any idea how far south the potential for Santa Ana or similar winds goes?  

Yes I am looking to buy in the east Rochester Area, basically in a 5 mile radius from St john fisher.

Although I will venture north if need be.

Part of the allure was the holding fees (insurance / property were several thousand less then up north) After one year, my Huntsville tenant had to move out early for a job relocation.

My north side Chicago which is class A-/B+ units run on average sub 3% vacancies.

It's about 20 miles away in an entirely different sub-market.Great price range though. 

I have a property that I purchased in Madison NC (about 25mins north of Greensboro). 

:) Well, if the planes take off and land from east to west, buying a home that is north or south is not directly in the flight path.
