Check with an estate attorney because I believe Medicaid is only allowed to seize up to the cost of care, so if your Grandmother's house is worth $50,000 and Medicaid spent $30,000 on her care, her estate would be entitled to the remaining $20,000.Elderly people who are facing nursing home care sometimes deed their house to their family while they are still alive.
