The guest being interviewed said “I read a statistic before that said in urban areas, if a kid from one of those neighborhoods goes on to become a professional athlete, the chances of another kid from that same exact neighborhood becoming a professional athlete as well is fivefold”… The concept itself is what really struck me.

The wide gap in MACRS recovery periods provides a strong incentive for taxpayers to allocate or reallocate costs of long-lived property to shortlived property, wherever possible. – CPA's provide clients with a standard depreciation that they know of but are not qualified engineers that can literally go in a property to identify tangible items that can be depreciated.
