About 2 months into the process, my broker tells me he thinks my loan is going to be denied.

For example, what if one company established a tenant call line and they could accept or deny the tenant just based on their voice?

That right there is what got my offer denied (80,000).

A traditional lender will take all other factors into account, and if they don't like what they see then they simply deny the loan.

When confronted, they too often hide behind the landlord, saying, "It's the owner's policy," but then denying access too the owner. 

The retaliatory claim was denied, and the court found in favor of tenants in regard to the conditions.The tenants wanted almost $10k in attorney fees as the prevailing party.

I haven't had the opportunity to contact references or do a background check on the rest of the application, but at a first glance there are no reasons to deny the boyfriend (no criminal history, prior rental history, etc.).

He also denied ever telling me cleaning the ducts would fix the problem.  

When we called the court to ask HOW this could happen, they told us they can't deny a person from calling to show cause, even if one judge said no extensions could be made.  

The companies that said no did so for various reasons; they either didn't do them on investments, the loan amount was too small, or they flat out denied that an FHA streamline could be done on a rental.
