I know the owners can still sell their property with the tax lien on it and the buyer take responsibility to pay it off.........unless the law is different elsewhere, they are still the owners and can sell it with the tax lien attached. 

Not to mention that you probably have to had a timeline attached to that. 

It is a 3/2 with all the bells and whistles and even has a 700 sq ft apartment attached to the garage with its own private entrance.

Normally it stops the foreclosure for a few months & the mortgage debt remains attached to the property but not to the borrower (unless he reaffirms the debt.)

I also have a non retirement account worth about 65000 that I have set up so that it is attached to my checking account if I need it for anything real estate related.

And no, there is no DPA (downpayment assistance programs) on multiunits, only on 1 unit, with strings attached of course.
