where I would tend to agree with the OP is I have seen folks use their IRA and not understand the actual costs of ownership and end up in a tough spot when they don't have enough reserves in the IRA  ( example they have 50k and spend 45k of the cash thinking 5k is enough reserves.) ..

The positive to having the sink drain side open to the renters eye is they can spot water leaks before they turn into major mold issues and placing a pretty trash can in there gives it a home in a small bathroom.

I typically do most of the work myself or hire my handy man who does just about everything and for a great price.I definitely have more experience in the construction industry than in the mortgage one for now, but I would love to chat further if you're willing to share some of the knowledge you have :) (up to this point it has been only my mother and I investing and we have about 6 properties collectively.)Thank you for all of the input!!
