The way Dan said it is how intelligent investors are getting 1031-like effects without having to do one.

I see from your profile page that you are an engineer and that tells me you are highly intelligent & very detail oriented & confident about doing things like setting up your own corporation.  

As you are clearly an extremely intelligent person who I respect from what you describe of yourself and know you would never do anything you read in a post from someone you don’t know without first verifying the accuracy of the statements or that the same applies to you in your own personal situation, I also have faith that others who are reading my post similarly are as intelligent as you are if not more so, and who definitely more more intelligent than me, and additionally who I respect and would like to learn from.

We intend to hire a local lawyer for finalizing our structure but would appreciate any guidance or feedback this community can provide so that we can speak intelligently on this topic. 

I am definitely the one that tends to “need to know everything before I start,” so already, I can tell that this will be a rewarding challenge for personal growth, development of financial intelligence..and maybe test our marriage at times :) Any power couples out there?
