A Montana tenant advocacy group got them quasi-outlawed a few years ago (technically they could still exist, but have to be specifically chosen as a default option by the tenant).Up until that point they were relatively enforceable, however some judges really didn't like auto-renewals and would rarely, if ever, enforce them.  

As soon as your tenant walks into court, she'll see the attorneys that work with the big tenant advocacy groups and speak with them.
