So I got to thinking about it, and hence my thoughts that led to this post.  

However, the only reference to Homeland Security I’ve seen is a post of a seeming “wish list” of investigative agencies by the OP in the Norada thread, who, if you read his posts, is obviously less than a reliable source of information and consumed by rage.  

I did see that mentioned in a LinkedIn post actually today, the clawback rule. 

There is nothing in the original post that stated the resident's situation was anything like yours.  

Depreciation can create paper losses to offset rental income or passive income, and qualifying as a Real Estate Professional (REPS) or STR loophole can allow losses to offset W-2 income.This post does not create a CPA-Client relationship.
