Typically these people can invest some money joining the right master mind and then more experienced people in that group would be able to partner up with them and guide them through the journey. 

I agree partners can act as your mastermind and a synergy can exist or they can be a pitfall. 

Joining a mastermind involves two key actions: applying what you learn and continually seeking knowledge both within and outside the mastermind's community.

I've been in several of these groups and amongst my network probably know someoen who has been in 90% of the real estate masterminds that exist.
