Edit: Just re-read your reply to Andrew and realized you might have asked "how you got started" and not "how you get started", so I'll just throw in how I started too since I already typed the rest out above:I bought a full gut 4-family in college, did the rehab myself and learned how to renovate a property and be a landlord that way.
