I will be getting an umbrella policy for liability coverage.

Now I am trying to change the policy to a "rental" home and he seems to be having issues with this.I was also told that I could not get a million dollar umbrella policy because I didn't qualify for one.

Hello all, So we have a few sfh rental properties and have kept them in our personal names and carried extra liability (umbrella) insurance for protection.

When it gets to more than that I create a new LLC and start putting new properties in until that one fills up.But, if you are just begining it's better to have Umbrella Insurance instead of LLCs.

I have six rentals and apparently our current umbrella policy only allows us to put 4 under the policy.

I have ALL my insurance there for everything plus an umbrella.

Although note investing is under the real estate umbrella, it’s a concept that I have found is difficult for most to understand.As for the items you mentioned earlier, I believe it comes down to simply having a mentor/coach show you the way and then it becomes a repeatable process.

Hi there,New here and to the RE investment world.My question:If I buy a property in a different state (say Indiana)/use an Umbrella insurance policy instead of Indiana LLC, and I reside in CA, can I forgo the Foreign LLC cost ($800), or am I still considered doing business in CA?
