I have lived in this city for over 40 years and have worked the streets of the southwest and southeast side for 12 years. 

Most affordable places to invest are : Jacksonville, North Little Rock and Southwest Little Rock 

I would agree that if you're looking for short term rentals in South West Florida, you want to stay in the areas where that tourism and revenue from the short term feeds the local economy.

And not a bad look ... especially for the Southwest like AZ.

I am also in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago and am new to real estate investing. 

Not only is the south west United State worried about water, they also have electrical power concerns.

The city is growing southwesterly/toward Wolfforth, buy in that direction for appreciation.
