Hello everyone, I am remodeling my bathroom and I am at a crossroads with choosing a bathtub.

Except the kitchen sinks, everything else works, toilet, bathtub, and bathroom sink.

Not detailed, but for example - clean filthy toilet $10, clean bathtub and tile $20, remove broken chair in LR and trash and haul to dump $75, etc. 

But the issue I'm having is find a bathtub that will last because it's going in a tile surround.

Around the toilets and bath tubs, feel the floor to see if it is soft, this is an indication of rotted wood floors, big issues.Roof look for double layer of shingles or age. you can look in the city, permit search, for the last time of replacement, if they tell you is new ask for the permits.Sewages and water lines, yes Cast Iron and black pipes (mostly commercial) can be an issue but look for the clean out and how far it is from trees.

The only thing I did was install a new bathtub, toilet, vanity, tub faucet, shower faucet, tile the floor, paint and my cost was $6800.
