Well and septic are super common here, no drawback to having well and septic from a value standpoint.  

It takes 2 hours to get to the ski resorts which is a bit of a drawback but other than that I have no complaints.

Both options have their benefits and drawbacks, so it's important to consider your financial goals, investment preferences, and comfort level with managing rental properties.

There is one draw back though....with no lender involved that means no lender is checking your work. 

The draw back to these loans is that they are more paperwork heavy than the other "portfolio" types of loans....but if you have ever received a loan on your primary home, it's likely that you will go through the same type of paperwork here with conventional lending.

They have drawbacks like all other plans including IRA, 401, 403 or 457.

Imo the main drawback to RE is it’s not liquid.

We've managed these services in our PM portfolio and it has its drawbacks. 

If you want a cashflow play, other states might work out better, but for long-term appreciation, I'll take California, even amidst the drawbacks. 

If she's not looking to become an agent, while there are benefits, there are also drawbacks, as I understand it.
