Soemtimes the foreclsoure list is 100s of properties and the Sheriff sells them very quickly.From the original published list, about 1/3 get postponed, sometimes for seemingly no reason.

Typically it would either sell, or it could have postponed to a future date, but it is also possible that the auction canceled, either because the loan paid current, the property sold (short sale or equity sale), or the lender decided to wait for some reason (there are many reasons) and republish the sale again later.

My two instances of not being firm enough have effected my cashflow a bit (I should have stuck to my raising the rent that month for the 85 year old lady instead of postponing it for 3 months), but not enough to make me grimace.
