I’m wondering if there might be some kind of consumer advocacy program in your state that might be able to give you more tailored advice on what to do, ideally at low/no cost.

Also,  your membership will help us all out with advocacy at various levels of government.  

Consumer advocacy is very important to us and that is why we do our best to expose apparent scams and interview people so the other investors can hear their first-hand accounts and protect themselves against bad actors. 

Even if you're numbers truly are weak right now, your advocacy and experience in the matter should remain "chin up and shoulders back."

I see that unlike previous generations they are a passionate lot that developed great skills in advocacy. 

Those companies that pay attention to STR advocacy will likely become the favorites for those who are directly impacted by any lobbying efforts provided by those companies for their local regions.  

No advocacy here (right or wrong) just pointing out some things to think through.
