I just purchased a duplex and it is listed under a single address.

I recently purchased 2 vacant lots in KS.

These properties were purchased for investment only purposes (they are not second homes/duplex’s etc).

Banks won't usually touch it even if buyer is qualified to purchase, banks don't like to finance small purchases, most have minimum amount they will finance (around 100K or higher).

What does everyone think is the most profitable area to purchase in?

I would encourage you to figure out exactly what is needed to get your first deal and set a goal of when you wish to purchase it by.

I wonder with Canadian economy struggling if there is potential to purchase distressed properties that could be converted into long-term rentals or successful AirBnbs (especially in the cabin markets that have been hit hard).

Can you count purchases made by friends/family as expenses?
