I'm going to be renting out a 2 car garage in Minneapolis to someone other than one of my current tenants (current tenants didn't want to pay extra for the garage).

I was looking at Minneapolis but it was far from family, a higher price point, strict landlord laws and much higher taxes. 

I've noticed other investors take that approach here in places like Northeast Minneapolis, but you are correct that most multi-family here in MSP is older.  

I am looking into a Duplex in the Minneapolis area and based on my max allowable offer my cash on cash return would be around 4.5%. 

The northern suburbs are a good place to invest, there is still a lot of competition but not as many eyes on it as you will find with Minneapolis or St.

I'm located in the Greater Minneapolis - St.

I am just starting on my real estate investment track and am looking for my first multi-family (2-4 unit) rental property in South Minneapolis.

I'll wrap it up with some basics about me, I'm a 27 year old IT EDI Business Analyst for CH Robinson and I currently live in Uptown Minneapolis.

I am looking in the Hopkins area, North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, and Saint Louis Park. 

I'd love to get anyone's opinions/strategies about this market, and I'm happy to share my knowledge of the Tucson, AZ area (where we currently live), and the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area (my holy grail investing region) if that's of interest to anyone.
