OR, they could be baking cookies for the scout troop, or selling fish dinners for the church occasionally.

I would go to our title companies title plant and have the title examiner show me how to look things up.. now keep in mind we were the largest client at the time for that small title company so I got a lot of perks.. but where I really did well was in the map rooms scouting out showdown plats.. that is one of the best ways to find value.. 

Upon first walk thru of property when I was scouting the house, I felt good about all units except the one in question.  

Keep scouting for that existing home "good deal" (will prices be this high when the time comes?)

Pay a handy guy to ride with you and scout the property (just a thought) otherwise, the best use of your time will be to verify if your buying a first lien position, knowing your market well enough to know what your buying and what your exit is, and underwriting the prospective deal so you anticipate worse case.

From experience with human beings, we always scout at least three other alternatives who can jump in and take over at any given time.

Time is money and being able to scout your own deals at your own leisure is worth it.Not sure how insurance goes for Oregon, but I would assume you would need some sort of E&O insurance.

Most likely we'll be flying out to Greensboro again for a few days so she can meet the team and we can scout properties.
