I understand the rental risk and am against it 100% for that reason, but you know this must be happening out there in some instances.But I do wonder if CPS would have to say about this--I wonder if they would confiscate the children from the Mother and put them in Foster care or something (???)

I know, because I buy houses from them to relieve that stress.There is maintenance that has to be done, a new roof, painting, plumbing, electrical, appliances, replace a water heater, replace the AC, build a fence and so on.When you have a paid off house and you don't pay your property taxes, the government confiscates your property and sells it.

Ultimately government's main function today seems to be confiscating wealth from some and using it for things we need collectively or to socially engineer society.

I started to do business in Brazil 20 years ago so I kinda know the country. to a certain extent.And, precisely we don't know whether the reais will go up or down against the USD (and in my case the CAD), having some of our assets in reais is actually a positive because it provides diversification in terms of currencies, thereby reducing our risk.The risk of confiscation is practically zero, like it is in most countries.

I'm curious what you think about the 5 year look back period where a Parent may wind up in a costly care situation, say a Nursing Home, and the Asset, including your Primary Home, can be confiscated to pay for the bills.Does the Living Trust help shield the Asset?
