Buying a portfolio might lead you to making decisions you don't have the experience and foresight to make well.

Investors trust someone who knows how to analyze financials and make sound decisions. 

@Hector Lewis - The decision ultimately depends on your current cash reserves relative to your financial needs, as well as your willingness to reinvest for potential appreciation.

I would say the condition and age of the property would have a lot of sway in your decision for whether or not it's worth it.

Before making any decision, I would get a customized property evaluation by a local Realtor to determine the value of the property on both sides of the spectrum; sale OR rental. 

We rely on these kinds of records to make decisions.

So PLEASE don’t make another huge financial decision and then tell that same person after you do it.
