Even going directly to the hedge funds can have its communication problems.

It will take less time to communicate with lenders than you think.

However, their communication was awful. 

Be sure to create a system for yourself to log your communications with sellers or potential buyers for future reference.

It's more of a matter of preference in regards to time commitment, style of communication and access to tools.

Maybe they communicate differently but have good intentions.

If you educate them from the beginning and are proactive in your communication as problems arise, they'll feel confident in your management.

Recently I was talking with a lender and after much communication back and forth I found out he did not have NMLS ID number and I was told he works 'under' someone else (within the company). 

If nothing else I take responsibility for that and will work to improve our communication systems between our franchisees, client success and sales team that's valid.As I have done before I'm a big fan of transparency and this forum, and will happily talk to anyone that has concerns about how we do business.

Definitely more work & communications than a long term tenant and you have to furnish the place of course.
