That meant they were late starters and just as marriages and children came the pandemic hit.  

Partnerships are like marriage: easy to get into, hard and expensive to get out of. 

I want to provide financial stability for myself and my partner and our children and I want to make sure me and mine are protected (financial abuse occurred during my marriage and has made me conscious of the need to protect myself).

There are children from the previous marriage.

When it goes into affect we are limited to one STR, but I am hoping that is one for wife and one for me (no marriage penalty).  

From retirement calculations, to marriage, to wills, these are all things I'll make sure to consider from the very beginning.

In general, this means that any property acquired by a couple during their marriage (with a few exceptions) is equally owned by both spouses.
